Why You Should Choose WIND

Submitted by Jafario on Thu, 12/17/2009 - 18:22

Why Should I Go With WIND?

1) No Contracts. Can use your phone 1 month, and decide to not use it the next and so on. Also swap to another company and eventually go back to WIND without any hassle.

2)Although plans aren't ridiculously cheaper, they are still competitively lower.

3)Get phones at cost.

4)Simple choice between 3 price options which can be customized with add ons for a fair price.

5)Customer Service is better than the rest. Right now they're trying to make a name for themselves in Canada and keep customers happy. Enough said.

Nexus One (Google Cell Phone): Available in Canada?

Submitted by Voip-Cell-Admin on Thu, 12/17/2009 - 05:20

The Nexus One phone has the potential to be a major competitor to the very successful iPhone.

However, we still don't know if it will be officially available in Canada.

But that doesn't matter.

WIND Mobile Roaming Costs

Submitted by Voip-Cell-Admin on Tue, 12/15/2009 - 00:21

Roaming will be a funny thing for WIND Mobile.

When you are outside of WIND's coverage area, you'll be on Rogers' network. This will cost 25 cents per minute (which isn't really that bad).

So, if you're in a dead-spot where WIND is supposedly operating, you'll roam onto Rogers and pay 25cents per minute for all incoming and outgoing calls.

WIND Mobile Phones Selling @ Blockbuster Video Stores: Location List

Submitted by Voip-Cell-Admin on Tue, 12/15/2009 - 00:00

WIND will be selling their products through their retail stores, but also through select Blockbuster videostores.

Checkout my article here for WIND's own retail storefront non-kiosk locations.

My understanding is that they'll be actual kiosks, rather than the 7-11 Speakoutwireless stores where the products are sold by the regular clerks that may not be too familiar with the products.

Ways WIND Mobile, Public Mobile and Others Can Set Themselves Apart

Submitted by Voip-Cell-Admin on Sun, 12/13/2009 - 03:47

... from the incumbents Telus, Bell and Rogers.

1. Tie-in with Google Voice (or at least cloning many of their services). This would allow one to check voicemail messages by having them emailed to you, and even having them transcribed. Seriously, just look at the Google Voice article to see what kind of innovations any telecom could offer if they just decided to be... innovative.

2. Innovative voicemail options: For example, tie-ins with Google Latitude, where callers (or select callers) can find out your geographic location when you're unable to take your call.

WIND Mobile Pricing: Post your Rumours Here on Texting, Minutes, Data Plans and more!

Submitted by Voip-Cell-Admin on Sat, 12/12/2009 - 04:27

For now, we really have no idea what WIND plans to actually charge. Nothing official has been announced on the WIND Mobile Website. See the comment below for rumoured pricing, or post your own rumours!

However, it is reasonably safe to say that the main cost for operating a cell phone network is in setting everything up rather than the cost of each individual minute or text sent.
