WIND Mobile Roaming Costs
Roaming will be a funny thing for WIND Mobile.
When you are outside of WIND's coverage area, you'll be on Rogers' network. This will cost 25 cents per minute (which isn't really that bad).
So, if you're in a dead-spot where WIND is supposedly operating, you'll roam onto Rogers and pay 25cents per minute for all incoming and outgoing calls.
Now, what if you're travelling and start your call in Rogers territory, and drive into WIND's territory? We simply don't know if the call will be handed-off to a WIND tower, or to a Rogers tower. My guess is that it will hand-off to a Rogers tower and you'll continue paying the roaming charge, but at least your call won't disconnect.
What if your call starts off in WIND's territory and you then drive into Rogers territory? My guess is that your call will drop, it won't get handed off, and you'll have to recall.
We also don't know what, if any, long distance charges may apply when roaming. If I have a Toronto phone, and take it to Niagara Falls (not covered by WIND), and make a call to Toronto, will I pay long distance of any kind, or just roaming? My guess is that no long distance charges will be incurred, but we simply don't know as of yet.
